How to find and clone viral videos with AI (two ways to do it in Vuela)
There is a shortcut to stop guessing what will go viral: find the videos already going viral in your niche and clone them with AI. In Vuela the full flow lives in three connected tools, but the key decision is in step two: there are two ways to clone a video, and you pick depending on the outcome you need.
This article explains when to use each one, what inputs they take, and what each tool actually produces, based on how the app really works.
Step 1. Find the viral video with the Viral Finder
The
- Keyword (main field): a niche, topic or creator handle.
- Search type: videos or channels.
- Format: all, long-form or short / vertical.
- Platform: YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or all.
When you enter the tool without a search, it auto-loads a general trending view with what is viral right now (cached for 24 hours so the load is instant).
On a real search you get a grid of cards with thumbnail, title, views, likes, comments and shares. Click any card and the video opens in a modal so you can watch it without leaving Vuela. Each card also has a "Replicate" button as a shortcut to the next step.
The key takeaway here is to save the URL of the video you want to clone (copy the share link, or click "Replicate" — that one passes the URL straight to the Cloner).
Step 2. Decide how to clone the video
This is the key decision. You have two tools that clone videos with very different approaches:
Option A. Video Cloner: clone the video almost as-is with variations
The
Real inputs the Cloner asks for:
- Video URL (
video_url): public URL from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or an .mp4 hosted in Vuela. - Target language: the language the cloned video comes out in (EN, ES, FR, etc.).
- Quality tier (
quality_tier): basic, premium or ultra. Higher quality means more credits. - Background music (optional): paste a public audio URL or upload a file if you want a different soundtrack from the original.
Internal flow: the Cloner first analyzes the video (/api/video/cloner/analyze) and, once analyzed, generates the clone (/api/video/cloner/clone). You don't touch those endpoints directly — the UI presents them as a single action.
Use it when you want to keep the format, scenes and overall idea of the viral original, but generate your own version that is not duplicate content. Think of it as "one-to-one with variations".
Option B. Video to Video: extract the script and generate a new video from scratch
If what interests you about the viral is the script and the narrative structure, and you want to build a fully new video from there (with your brand, your voice, your visuals), the tool is
Real inputs:
- Video URL from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook or any .mp4/.mov/.webm, or
- Upload a video file (up to 100 MB, MP4/MOV/AVI/WebM).
What the AI actually does: it analyzes the source video and extracts a full structure:
- Formatted script (
formatted_script) ready to use. - Numbered scenes with visual description, dialogue and narration per scene.
- Video type (
video_type) and visual style (visual_style) detected. - Whether there are dialogues or voiceover (
has_dialogues,has_voiceover) and the music style.
Once the analysis is done it sends you to the video playground with two modes:
- Director mode (recommended when the source has dialogues): conversational scene-by-scene editing with the AI as the director.
- Single voice mode: one voiceover over the whole script, ideal for faceless videos.
Use it when you care about the idea or the script of the viral, not the visuals. You want to recreate it with your own visuals, your own voice and your own brand, while keeping the narrative structure that already works.
Cloner vs Video to Video at a glance
| Aspect | Video Cloner | Video to Video |
|---|---|---|
| What it clones | Structure, scenes and look of the original with variations | Script and narrative only |
| Output | New video similar to the original but unique | New video from scratch using the script |
| Creative control | Low: the AI decides the variations | High: you choose style, voice, visuals in the playground |
| Inputs | URL + language + quality + optional music | URL or video file |
| Time to ship | Faster: single pass | A bit longer, you edit in the playground |
| Best for | Producing variants of a viral at scale | Reusing winning scripts with your own brand |
Ethical and legal notes
- Scripts and structure are not copyrightable: hooks, pacing and format are patterns. Specific assets (music, logos, brand visuals) are. That is why the Cloner produces variations strong enough not to count as duplicate.
- Do not upload videos with brands, voices or people without permission. The AI respects the URL you give it; the inputs are your responsibility.
- Always credit the original creator when an idea inspires you. Good karma and platforms reward it.
When to combine both
The most complete flow uses both in sequence:
- Find 10 viral videos in the Viral Finder.
- Run the Cloner on 5 of them to produce fast variants (daily posts).
- Take the 2 best scripts from the rest and run them through Video to Video to craft careful versions in the playground (your weekly hero posts).
Result: a content library validated by the algorithm, fast to produce, with two levels of polish depending on the weight of each piece.
