What to use your SVG for

Logos for the web

A sharp logo at any size, with no blur on retina screens and a lighter file than a big PNG.

Cricut, vinyl and laser

Single-colour cut files without the background, ready for Cricut Design Space or Silhouette.

Icons and illustrations

Turn clipart, stamps and hand drawings into vectors you can recolour and edit.

Print and merchandise

Vectors scale to a banner or a T-shirt without losing quality.

Works best with

  • ✅ Logos and icons with flat colours
  • ✅ Text, signatures and black and white drawings
  • ✅ Clipart and simple illustrations

Keep in mind

  • • Photos become a flat-colour poster, not a photo in vector
  • • Small or blurry images give rougher edges: use the largest version you have
  • • Gradients turn into colour bands

Frequently asked questions

Is this PNG to SVG converter really free?

Yes. It runs entirely in your browser: no account, no watermark and no upload. Your image is processed on your own device and never sent to a server.

Does it work with JPG and WebP too?

Yes. You can convert PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP images to SVG. For JPG logos on a white background, tick "Remove background" to keep only the logo.

Can I use the SVG with Cricut, Silhouette or a laser cutter?

Yes. Choose the "Black and white" mode: it produces a single-colour SVG without the background, which is what cutting machines and vinyl plotters expect.

Why does my photo look like a poster?

SVG describes shapes filled with flat colour, so a photo becomes a set of colour areas. That works well for logos, icons, drawings and text, and gives an artistic poster effect on photos.

How do I get a lighter SVG?

Lower the number of colours and move the Detail slider towards "Simple". Fewer colours and shapes mean a smaller file that loads faster on a website.

Is the image converted with AI?

No. This free tool traces the pixels with a classic vectorization algorithm in your browser. For complex logos or photos, the Vuela app also vectorizes with AI.
